Bringing intellectual and policy leaders to Australia to broaden debate and deepen understanding.
The Dr Ram Sethi Fellowship was established in 2026 through a gift from Prabhat Sethi on behalf of The Sethi Family Foundation.
Hosted by the Lowy Institute as part of its India Program, the Fellowship brings an internationally recognised intellectual and policy leader to Australia each year to enrich the national conversation on strategic issues — particularly those concerning India, the Indo-Pacific, and the evolving Australia–India relationship. While in Australia, the Fellow undertakes a program of meetings, speeches, and media appearances designed to build enduring networks between Australian and Indian strategic communities.
The Fellowship honours the legacy of Dr Ram Sethi, whose life exemplified the values of rigorous inquiry, cross-cultural understanding, and service to community. It reflects the family’s long-term commitment to fostering thoughtful, informed dialogue between the two nations.
In an era of geopolitical complexity, the Fellowship stands as a bridge: between nations, between ideas, and between generations of leaders committed to a stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Dhruva Jaishankar is the 2026 and inaugural recipient of The Dr Ram Sethi Fellowship.
