Prime Minister to speak at the Lowy Institute for International Policy

25 August 2013

On Tuesday 27 August Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will deliver an address at the Lowy Institute for International Policy in Sydney on global and regional economic and security challenges facing Australia.

‘The Lowy Institute is pleased to be hosting the Prime Minister for this address as part of our efforts to promote greater public discussion of international issues in this election year,’ said the Lowy Institute's Executive Director, Dr Michael Fullilove.

In the first week of the election campaign the Institute held the foreign policy debate between Foreign Minister Senator Bob Carr and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs Julie Bishop MP.

Earlier this year, Greens Leader Senator Christine Milne addressed the Institute on the G20, and Shadow Minister for Defence Senator David Johnston spoke at the Institute on Coalition defence and strategic policy.

The Lowy Institute’s blog The Interpreter is hosting a special series on international issues in the election, entitled The Election Interpreter.
