Ms Hanh Nguyen is a scholar on Asia-Pacific security architecture, crisis governance, economic security and Southeast Asia (with a focus on Vietnam).
She is currently a PhD candidate at the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Australian National University (ANU) and Blue Security Research Fellow with La Trobe Asia. She also holds fellowships with the Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS).
She has received several scholarships and grants, and recently was part of a team to advise the Vietnamese government on its maritime security governance and strategy (with Dr. Scott Edwards of the Universiti Malaya and Dr. John Bradford of YCAPS), funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom.
Ms. Hanh frequently provides expert comments for NPR, Nikkei Asia, South China Morning Post, The Strait Times, among other media platforms. A list of her publications can be found here (Opens in new window).
