Dr Kulani Wijayabahu is Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at the University of Colombo.
Dr Wijayabahu recently completed a PhD in Politics at the University of Otago, New Zealand, examining small-state agency, asymmetry and Sri Lanka’s engagement with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Her wider research and commentary focuses on small states, Indian Ocean geopolitics, infrastructure statecraft, China–Sri Lanka relations and foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific. Dr Wijayabahu is currently based in Australia.
