Makaela Fehlhaber is a PhD student at Northumbria University, focusing on a review of causation in international law, its relationship with the law of state responsibility, human rights, and rule of law principles.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of International Relations, and a Master of International Law. She was named a Rotary Global Grant Scholar and an Australian Government New Colombo Plan Scholar during her studies which took her work and research to Taiwan, Malaysia and Scotland. Makaela is a published author with works in the Australian Journal of International Law and the Oxford Journal of Planetary Science. Her specialist areas are the law of state responsibility, extraterritoriality, environmental law, and human rights.
