Max Broad is a Research Associate at the Lowy Institute, supporting the Executive Director across research, publications, and events. His background spans national security policy, strategic studies, and Southeast Asian politics.
Max joined the Institute from the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department, where he worked on national security policy. He has previous experience at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Singapore and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Indonesia, and has worked as a Senior Research Assistant in the University of Queensland's Faculty of Political Science and International Studies.
He speaks Indonesian and French, and holds a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland.
