Dr Sergey Sukhankin is a Senior Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation in Washington DC, and a Fellow at the North American and Arctic Defence and Security Network (NAADSN).
Dr Sergey Sukhankin is a Senior Fellow at the Jamestown Foundation in Washington DC, and a Fellow at the North American and Arctic Defence and Security Network (NAADSN). His project discussing the activities of Russian private military companies, “War by Other Means,” informed the United Nations General Assembly report entitled “Use of Mercenaries as a Means of Violating Human Rights and Impeding the Exercise of the Right of Peoples to Self-Determination.” Sukhankin has extensively researched issues relating to trade and business in the Arctic region. He has particularly focused on oil and natural gas projects in the Arctic, as well as Russia’s trade in raw materials and commodities.
